Formula 1 (F1) 2022
Formula 1 (also known as F1) is the highest class of international racing sanctioned by the Federation Internationale de I'Automobile (FIA). F1 cars are the fastest regulated road-course racing cars in the world, owing to very high cornering speeds achieved through the generation of large amounts of aerodynamic downforce. Point system is used at Grands Prix to determine two annual World Championships: one for the drivers, the other for constructors. Each driver must hold a valid Super License, the highest class of racing license issued by the FIA. The races must run on tracks graded "1" (formerly "A"), the highest grade-rating issued by the FIA.
This year will see 23 Grand Prix races, a new venue and the return of some classics, such as:
- 23 races slated for the year – up from the 22 in 2021
- A new race - 2022 will witness F1 returning to the state of Florida for the first time since 1959 on May 6-8
- Suzuka, Montreal and Melbourne are all back on the calendar
- Monaco weekend will be shortened to three days
- The season will end with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on 20th November instead of the usual December
